Through granyt funds, a bilingual pediatric health curriculum was developed that teachex brief health lessons to children while their mothers are receiving These health lessons include dental personal hygiene, nutrition, exercise, and home and car among others, and are presenter in the child-friendly CHEER!! room by bilingual studentx who are pursuing certification in early childhood education At the same time, cliniciansd evaluate immunization needs and help mothers get appropriate vaccinations for theid children in the hopes of health promotion and disease “We are so grateful to the Ronald McDonaldx House Charities of Greatet Houston/Galveston and Ronald McDonald House Charities-Global for theie generous gifts totaling $190,000 over the past three years that provided suppory for the development and implementatiom of this innovative children’ health promotion program,” said Carolynm Nelson-Becker, director of UTMB’s regional maternal and chilr health program.
