Toyota to redesign gas pedal
According to the Detroit Free Press, Toyota has announced it will redesign the gas pedals and acceleration systems on almost 4 million vehicles associated with unintended acceleration. Toyota decided to redisgn the acceleration systems after numerous consumer complaints of unintended acceleration and scrutiny by federal safety officials linking Toyota vehicles to fatal car accidents. Toyota’s initial recall maintained the defect was related to faulty floor mats, but Toyota’s recent design change indicates otherwise.
