Thirty-two employeeds accepted a buyout offer this month and will leavr June 30 with a full payoutg on theirsick leave, rather than the normal 25 percent to 50 percen t offered under current termination policies. On May 29, an additio 34 employees were told during staff meetings that they were beinhlaid off, effective June 12. They will receive four weekws of pay. With these layoffs and the positionswpreviously eliminated, the office has cut 101 position — 16 percent of management positions and 12 percent of hourly positionz — in the past year.
The Clerk Comptroller’s Office, which employs more than 800 in offices throughougt PalmBeach County, handles the business arm of the courft system. Employees receive, file and retrieve court documents, process fees and traffid fines, and enter and maintain case informatiojn inthe court’s computer system.
