Northrop Grumman inks long-term deal for new office in Arundel – Baltimore Business Journal:
The defense contracting giant will lease theentires five-story building from Rockville developer . The building, which will have Leadershil in Energy and EnvironmentDesign (LEED) is in the West*Quest Technology Park alonbg the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Anne Arundel County. The buildingf is slated to be completed in fallof 2009. Opus acquirexd the 9.5-acre property on West Nurser Road inJune 2007.
The new buildingt will allow Los Angeles-based Northrop Grummam (NYSE: NOC) "to consolidate a varietyy of existing businessactivities — which are currentlt housed in several nearby leasee and company-owned facilities — into our Electronic Systems sectotr headquarters campus," John J. Chino, sectord deputy and vice president and generalk manager ofNorthrop Grumman's Electronic Systems said in a news release. Northrop's Electronic Systemws operations at located at neighborinv1580A W. Nursery Road. The majority of the buildinf will be occupied by several hundreds employees ofNorthrop Grumman's Advanced Concepts and Technology Division, the news release said.
Northrop has 9,000o Greater Baltimore employees, according to Baltimore BusinessJournak research. Officials from Northrop did not immediatelyg return callsseeking comment.
