It’s not Rudolph in your garage!

We’ve all heard spoofs of our favorite holiday songs describing how things that would normally be enjoyable go terribly wrong.  Well this year if we catch you singing about how your car won’t run because of Reggie the rat or Marty the mouse it won’t be that much of a tragedy because guess what?  You’re covered, that is, as long as you’re carrying adequate coverage.  You’ll notice more crawlies in your house during the winter months than the rest of the year because they’re just looking for a warm place to sleep..or creep.  Either way the story goes just the same with your vehicle.  It’s not a myth that rodents like to chew up wiring so if you find that some wires seem to be disconnected and all of a sudden you’re car’s not running see if you can’t find the little bugger.  Hopefully you’re carrying comprehensive coverage on your auto policy and if that’s the case an adjuster will come inspect the damage and if they find it’s due to an animal or some other creature you just pay your deductible and we handle the rest.  The best way to think of comprehensive coverage is things you can’t help, the little rodent couldn’t help himself from chewing away in the warm place he’s been staying about as much as you couldn’t help stopping him from doing it.  So if you find a rodent chewed through the lines in your vehicle STOP!  Don’t Panic!  Call your agent (hopefully that’s us) and we’ll walk with you through the claims process one step at a time.  Happy Holidays from the Jim Jones Agency.  May the rest of your 2009 be filled with traditional, happy holiday tunes and family time.
