How to get a Discount on Auto Insurance

It is not hard to feel the affects of the economy and today everyone is looking for ways to save money.  Here are just a few tips that can help you determine if a discount on your auto insurance is available:

• Multiple Lines Discount – If you have Auto, Home and Life insurance with Farmers, you may qualify for additional savings on your auto or home policy.
• Affinity Discounts – This discount is available for insureds who are members of an eligible business or professional group and meets other specified criteria. (e.g. Police, Firefighters, Doctors, Teachers, etc.)
• Alternative Fuel – This discount applies to drivers of gas/electric hybrid vehicles and other alternative fuel vehicles.
• Anti-Lock Brakes – To qualify, the automobile must be equipped with a factory-installed Anti-lock braking system on all 4 wheels.
• Auto/Mobilehome – This discount will apply if the person named on the auto policy, or their spouse, is also the person named on a Foremost Mobile Homeowners policy.
• Auto/Home – A discount on your Auto Policy may be applied if the person named on the policy, or their spouse, is also the person named on a Homeowners or Renters Policy.
• Auto/Life – The discount applies to the Auto policy, provided a member of the household is also the owner of a Term, Whole Life, Universal Life or Variable Universal Life insurance policy (Distributed by Farmers Financial Solutions, LLC, 2423 Galena Avenue, Simi Valley, VA 93065) with a face amount of $50,000 or greater issued by Farmers NewWorld Life Insurance Company Mercer Island, WA 98040.
• Auto/Financial – This discount applied provided a member of the household also participates in one of the following qualified ERISA group plans: 457, 401(k), 401 (a), 403 (b)(7) and Simple IRA with a minimum of 10 participants.
• Electronic Funds Transfer – This discount is available to all customers who enroll in Farmers EasyPay automatic checking withdrawal billing system.
• Good Student – This discount is available to single drivers under age 25 with specific academic achievements int heir current educational environment.
• Passive Restraint – This discount is available on Medical coverage.  To qualify, the automobile must be equipped with a factory-installed air bag or other passive restraint system that meets Federal Safety Standards.
• Prior Insurance – Insureds in Mid-Century who have been continuously insured by any insurance carrier over the prior six months qualify.
• Two or More Vehicles – The Two or More Car Discount shall be applied to two or more private passenger automobiles which are kept at the same location and owned (or leased on a long term basis) by: An individual or husband and wife or a parent, grandparent, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, sister or grandchild of either who is a resident of the same household.  A corporation, partnership, or association if the automobile is not rated for business use.
• Youth Education and Safety (Y.E.S.) – The Y.E.S. Program offers two discount options for youthful drivers in the Mid-Century Company—the Y.E.S. Premier and Y.E.S. Standard Youthful Driver Discount plans.  Apply to any youth under the age of 25.  The youth must live with their parents or guardians, unless attending and residing at a college/university.  No citations or accidents for the youthful driver in the past 36 months or for the length of time driving, whichever is shorter.  The youthful driver must successfully complete a video/workbook program covering issues on insurance economics and driving safety.
• New Household Credit – New to Farmers?  We’ll credit your first payment if you create a new auto and homeowners policy at the same time.  Discount applies when the policy is written in a new household and a qualifying fire property policy is issued as new business with the same effective date.
• Advanced Purchase Credit – This discount is available for new Auto customers that purchase an auto policy 7 or more days in advance of the effective date of the policy.
• New Parent Discounts – Earn a discount on your auto policy if you are a new parent whose oldest child is 6 years or younger.
• Electronic Stability Control (ESC) – Applicable to Collision Coverage, the discount is available for passenger cards equipped with the Electronic Stability Control feature.
• Paid in Full – Customers that pay 100% of their Full-Term policy amount receive a discount up to 20%
