If you or your passengers are seriously injured it is best to not move. Wait for the authorities to arrive and assist you. Otherwise take your camera and exit your car. If there was another person involved make sure they are alright. If it is a serious accident and the other person is suffering from severe injuries call 911 right away. Never touch or help a person with severe injuries unless they are directly in harms way by staying where they are.
Thankfully most people involved in car accidents walk away free of injury. If both parties are not injured then quickly take pictures of the accident and move the cars to the side of the road if they are drivable.
If you were in some kind of collision with another car never admit fault. Try and not talk about the accident with them at all other than making sure they are not injured. Trade all basic information like names and insurance cards. By law that’s all you need to give and get, but try to pry as much information as you can from them.
