Car dealers are feeling increasingly confident about their business, new research has shown.

According to the latest RMI National Franchised Dealers Association Dealer Attitude Survey, the car scrappage scheme has helped to bring relief to the sector, allowing dealers to feel more confident about their situation.

Car insurance customers looking for a new motor may have been able to find bargains in dealerships across the country in recent months as the recession knocked demand. Sue Robinson, director of the RMI, said that car dealers have reported improved profitability, and that the scrappage scheme has helped this situation. “Unsurprisingly we’ve found that dealers were happier with manufacturers who have been more willing to collaborate with their dealer networks in setting sales targets and more ready to appreciate the difficulties faced by their networks in the current market,” Ms Robinson said.

She added that overall, there appears to be increased understanding between dealers and their manufacturers, and that despite ongoing uncertainty in the market, dealers are confident that business will continue to improve in the coming months.

The survey found that dealers believed there is value in holding a franchise, possibly indicating the belief in brand names that car insurance customers have when buying a new motor.

OKGO Plays Mouse Trap

Since when do music videos ever depict anything else except broken or happy hearts, rump shaking or putting the most dramatic twist on a song. Not to say that some, and I do mean some, of those videos are really good and well thought out, but OKGO takes the cake (again) with their new video for This Too Shall Pass.

Remember the treadmil video? Yeah, I remember the video but not the song too. Well, this video pokes fun as well as sets a whole new standard for music video creating.

As 1 continuous shot it makes the whole thing even better, and with attribution to State Farm at the end makes it all the more hilarious. The whole thing reminds me of the classic game Mouse Trap. A crafty setup of domino’s, bowling balls, chairs, T.V. and piano smashing all topped off with paint splatter makes me think of my childhood. God, I miss being a kid. OKGO brings the brighter side of life to our T.V. and computer screens with this video and also, I think, is bringing back the fun that artists are supposed to have with music videos. There is no more creativeness anymore, and like I said before it is all about the over dramatizing.

But lets be real, after watching it for the first time do you even really know what the song is about until you listen to just the track? OKGO is a great band and though their videos are awesome it takes away from the music, which is the reason they got famous to begin with.

I digress, this music video is one of the best that I have seen lately (next to NeverShoutNever!’s song What is Love?) and will certainly hold a place on my youtube playlist.

So to sum up, thumbs up to you OKGO for knocking another funny and creative music video out of the park!!! Along with that having another awesome single.

Make no mistake about it. It all starts with the Dream. In every ‘how to be successful’ text ever written, every secret ever shared by the world’s most extraordinary achievers; it starts with knowing your outcome first.

The answer lies in one simple and easy to understand principle. It’s called ACTION! Do SOMETHING! Get off your butt and MOVE IN THE DIRECTION OF YOUR DREAM! Stop dreaming and start DOING! In physics, Sir Isaac Newton’s first law of motion states, “An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.” It’s also called the ‘law of inertia’. Bottom line is that the object in motion has to do just that – be in motion.

I’m as guilty as any human being that ever lived of procrastinating and putting off what needs to get done to accomplish a worthwhile dream or goal. AND, I’m also aware of the reward that comes with overcoming the fear that often times stops us from acting in the first place. I’ve shared this often and it is so true, “the greater the prize, the greater the price. And the prize is always greater!”

Ask any of the medalists in the recently completed 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver if the prize was worth the years and years of absolute dedication and work that went into that achievement. Ask Teddy Roosevelt if it’s worth it. Ask anyone who has ever paid the price of success if it’s worth it. They’ll all tell you the same thing. IT IS.

It starts with the dream. That anything man can conceive and believe he can achieve. Start there and get crystal clear on what you desire with all your heart…then get in the Arena, stop dreaming and start doing. I believe in you…go for it!
