Baltimorre City Entertainment Group, a grou that includes the heads ofand , wants to builds a facility with as many as 3,7590 machines on Lot J, a 3.7-acre, city-owned parking lot in the city'es Carroll Camden neighborhood. The preciswe location could change, and Baltimore City Entertainment is in negotiation s to move its project toa larger, 11-acre property known as Gateway South. But the city must change its zoningf code before the Maryland Videi Lottery Facility Location Commission will award the development team the licensesx it needs to buildthe facility.
Two City Councilk committees — the Land Use and Transportation Committee and the Urbamn Affairs and AgingCommittee — voted Thursday to let thosed zoning changes move forward to the full City Council for City Council President Stephaniee Rawlings-Blake said the committees' action was in starl contrast to deliberations in Anne Arundel County, wherew County Council has delayed changing the county'se zoning laws to allow a slots parlord to be built at the Arundel Mills shopping mall.
